Volunteers Needed: 2026 Lake Hopatcong Block Party

Volunteers Sought for 2026 Lake Hopatcong Block Party

Be part of one of Lake Hopatcong’s largest celebrations

LANDING, N.J., April 10, 2026 – The Lake Hopatcong Foundation is seeking volunteers to help bring the 2026 Lake Hopatcong Block Party to life on Saturday, May 16, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Hopatcong State Park in Landing.

The annual Lake Hopatcong Block Party brings together thousands of visitors, local businesses, nonprofit organizations, community groups, and food vendors for a full day along the lakefront. From live entertainment and shopping to food and family-friendly activities, the event marks the unofficial start of summer at Lake Hopatcong.

“The Block Party continues to grow as a signature event for the lake region,” said Executive Director Kyle Richter. “It’s an opportunity to bring people together, highlight the organizations and businesses that make this area unique, and celebrate Lake Hopatcong as a shared resource.”

A large crowd is expected, along with a wide range of vendors and exhibitors, making it one of the largest and most anticipated community events in the area.

Volunteers play a key role in making the day possible, helping to keep the event running smoothly while creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests. Opportunities are available throughout the day, including assisting vendors, greeting visitors, helping with parking, and supporting event setup.

“We rely on volunteers to help create a positive and organized experience for everyone involved,” said Event Coordinator Kari Constantine. “It’s also a great way to spend the day outside, meet new people, and be part of an event that so many people look forward to each year.”

Volunteer shifts are typically scheduled in four-hour blocks between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m., with additional help needed for setup the day before the event.

“There’s a real sense of energy and community at the Block Party,” said Volunteer Coordinator John Hanna. “Whether you’re helping behind the scenes or interacting with guests, you’re part of what makes the event enjoyable for everyone.”

Interested individuals are asked to sign up at lakehopatcongfoundation.org/blockparty and attend an on-site training session Thursday evening, May 14, at 6 p.m., where they will also receive a volunteer T-shirt.

The Lake Hopatcong Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to protecting the lake environment and enhancing the lake experience by bringing together public and private resources to encourage a culture of sustainability and stewardship on and around New Jersey’s largest lake, for this and future generations.
