With support from patients and local community members, the practice collected over 50

bags of donated supplies, generating multiple truckloads of essential items for relief

efforts.

The earthquake struck San José del Palmar in western Colombia, according to the

Servicio Geológico Colombiano. The earthquake resulted in hundreds of deaths and

thousands of injuries and caused widespread damage to homes and infrastructure,

according to the Asian Disaster Reduction Center. The destruction left affected

communities facing significant humanitarian needs.

In response, Tri-County Orthopedics hosted the donation drive at its Cedar Knolls,

Jefferson, Bedminster and Bridgewater locations, providing patients and community

members with a local way to contribute to relief efforts. Donations included

nonperishable food, baby products, first aid supplies, personal hygiene products, clothing,

makeup, shoes and other essential items. By the conclusion of the drive, an outpouring of

support from the community had resulted in a significant collection of essential supplies

for relief efforts.

“We are incredibly grateful to everyone who contributed to this effort,” said Dr. Paul

Lombardi, partner and joint replacement surgeon at Tri-County Orthopedics. “The

generosity shown by our patients, staff and local community demonstrates what can be

accomplished when people come together to help those facing extraordinary

circumstances.”

The collected donations, totaling more than 50 bags of essential supplies, were delivered to three locations to support relief efforts.
