Ramp Closure I-80 EB Exit 25 to Route 206

I-80 eastbound Exit 25 to Route 206 northbound to be closed and detoured tomorrow night in Roxbury, Morris County

Route 206/Route183 southbound ramp to I-80 eastbound also to be closed

 

(Trenton) – The I-80 eastbound Exit 25 ramp to Route 206 northbound and the Route 206/Route 183 southbound ramp to I-80 eastbound are scheduled to be closed tomorrow night as a pavement resurfacing and improvement project advances in Roxbury, Morris County. In addition, two left lanes and the left shoulder on I-80 eastbound are scheduled to be closed tomorrow night between mile post 22.0 just past the rest stop in Allamuchy, Warren County and mile post 27.0 near Exit 27A-B/Route 206 in Roxbury, Morris County.

 

I-80 eastbound Ramp Closures

Beginning at 7 p.m. tomorrow, Wednesday, September 24 until 6 a.m. Thursday, September 25, the I-80 eastbound Exit 25 ramp to Route 206 northbound and the Route 206/Route 183 southbound ramp to I-80 eastbound will be closed and detoured for paving and restriping. If work is completed sooner, the ramps will reopen earlier. The following detours will be in place overnight:

 

I-80 eastbound Exit 25 ramp to Route 206 northbound Detour:

  • Motorists on I-80 eastbound wishing to take the Exit 25 ramp to Route 206 northbound will be directed to take the Exit 27A-B ramp to Route 183 North/Route 206 South/Netcong/Somerville

  • Stay left to Route 183 North/Route 206 northbound/Route 46/I-80 West

  • At the stop sign, go straight to cross Route 183/Route 206 southbound

  • Stay left to continue towards I-80 West/Route 206 North/Route 46 West/Stanhope/Newton

  • Stay in the left lane towards I-80 West/Route 206 North to Route 46 West/Stanhope/Newton, where the ramp splits for Route 183 North/Netcong

  • Continue on I-80 westbound

  • Take Exit 25 to Route 206 North/Stanhope/Newton

 

Route 206/Route 183 southbound to I-80 eastbound Detour:

  • Motorists on Route 183 southbound, which becomes Route 206 southbound, wishing to take the ramp to I-80 eastbound will be directed to continue on Route 206 southbound

  • Turn right onto International Drive South

  • Turn right onto Route 46 eastbound

  • Stay right to take the ramp onto I-80 eastbound/New York City

 

I-80 eastbound Lane Closures

In addition, beginning at 7 p.m. tomorrow, Wednesday, September 24 until 6 a.m. Thursday, September 25, the two left lanes and the left shoulder on I-80 eastbound are scheduled to be closed from east of the Truck Rest Stop (MP 22.0) in Allamuchy to Exit 27 A-B. At least one lane will be maintained overnight. Where I-80 is four lanes, at least two lanes will be maintained. The closures are necessary for milling, paving, and striping. Motorists are advised to slow down, use caution and expect delays when driving through the work zone.

 

The work is part of a pavement preservation project that will mill and pave approximately 14 miles of I-80 eastbound from mile post 12.8 near Hope Road in Hope, Warren County through mile post 27.3 near the Route 206 Interchange in Roxbury, Morris County. The project is expected to be completed in fall 2025.

 

Portable variable message signs are being used to provide advance notification of traffic pattern changes associated with the work. The precise timing of the work is subject to change due to weather or other factors.
