Lane closures on Route 15 southbound necessary for bridge repairs
(Trenton) – The ramp to Route 15 northbound from North Main Street is scheduled to be closed Friday night in Wharton, Morris County. In addition, the right and center lanes on Route 15 southbound are scheduled to be closed at the same time.
Beginning at 10 p.m. Friday, September 5 until 6 a.m. Saturday, September 6, the ramp from North Main Street to Route 15 northbound is scheduled to be closed to make concrete deck repairs on the Route 15 southbound Bridge over the ramp to Route 15 northbound. The following detour will be in place:
North Main Street to Route 15 northbound:
Motorists on North Main Street wishing to take the ramp to Route 15 northbound will be directed to stay left and continue on North Main Street
Turn right onto Route 15 southbound
Stay left to take the ramp to I-80 eastbound/New York City
Take Exit 35 to Mount Hope/Dover
Stay left on the ramp to turn left onto Mount Hope Avenue/CR 661
Stay left to take the ramp to I-80 westbound
Take Exit 34B to Route 15 northbound/Jefferson/Sparta
In addition, beginning at 10 p.m. Friday, September 5 until 6 a.m. Saturday, September 6, the right and center lanes on Route 15 southbound are scheduled to be closed from mile post 2.8 to 2.4 on the Bridge over Route 15 southbound.
The ramp and lane closures are necessary to make concrete repairs on the Route 15 southbound Bridge over the ramp to Route 15 northbound. Motorists are advised to slow down, use caution, and expect delays when traveling through the work zone.
The work is part of the $16.4 million state-funded maintenance contract that will make repairs to concrete structures at various locations throughout Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Morris, Passaic, Sussex, Union and Warren counties.
