I-80 Westbound Exit 35A to Mount Hope Avenue/CR 661 to be closed Friday night in Wharton, Morris County

Closure necessary for drainage basin repairs

(Trenton) – I-80 westbound Exit 35A/Dover/U Turn is scheduled to be closed and detoured on Friday night for maintenance drainage repairs in Wharton, Morris County. 

Beginning at 9 p.m. Friday, August 22 until 7 a.m. Saturday, August 23, I-80 westbound Exit 35A/Dover/U Turn to Mount Hope Avenue/CR 661 southbound is scheduled to be closed and detoured. The closure is necessary to make repairs to multiple drainage basins near the ramp. The following detour will be in place Friday night:

I-80 westbound at Exit 35A Detour:

• Motorists on I-80 westbound wishing to take Exit 35A to Dover/U Turn will be directed to take Exit 34B/Route 15 North/Jefferson/Sparta

• Keep left on Route 15 northbound

• Use the left two left lanes at Pondview Drive to make a U-turn onto Route 15 southbound

• Stay left to take the ramp to I-80 East/New York City

• Take Exit 35 to Mount Hope/Dover

• Stay right to merge on Mount Hope Avenue/CR 661 northbound

This work is part of a $15.7 million state-funded maintenance project that will make repairs to stormwater facilities in various locations throughout Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Morris, Passaic, Sussex, Union and Warren counties.
