GMM Habitat for Humanity Seeks Sponsors and Volunteers for 2026 Women Build

Greater Middlesex & Morris Habitat for Humanity Seeks Sponsors and

Volunteers for 2026 Women Build

RANDOLPH, N.J., April 20, 2026 — Greater Middlesex & Morris Habitat for Humanity (GMM Habitat), a leading advocate and builder of affordable housing in New Jersey, is seeking sponsors and volunteers to participate in its 2026 Women Build initiative taking place throughout the month of May.

Women Build is a grassroots movement that brings together women and supportive allies to raise funds and help construct safe, affordable homes for families in need. This year’s initiative will once again mobilize volunteers from across GMM Habitat’s service area to work on home construction projects in Rockaway with a celebration in the Budd Lake section of Mount Olive, N.J.

The month-long effort highlights GMM Habitat’s commitment to empowering women to take an active role in addressing the affordable housing crisis while building strength, stability, and self-reliance for local families.

“Home is the key to stability, health and opportunity, but for far too many women in the U.S., the door to affordable homeownership remains closed,” said Liz DeCoursey, CEO of GMM Habitat.  “Women Build brings together community members, business leaders, and volunteers to make a meaningful difference—helping families achieve stability while fostering connection and empowerment among participants.”

Returning for another year, Women Build Ambassador Stacey Moore, a relationship manager with Provident Bank, will continue to support the initiative by engaging volunteers and local businesses. Moore, an experienced Women Build participant, has contributed to multiple build sites over the years, assisting with hands-on construction tasks and team efforts.

GMM Habitat will also host a peer-to-peer fundraising campaign, encouraging volunteers to raise critical funds to support the construction of homes and expand access to affordable housing throughout the region.

No prior construction experience is necessary. Women and supportive men ages 18 and older are encouraged to participate. Volunteer opportunities are available on Wednesday, May 27 at a build site in Rockaway, N.J. The closing ceremony will take place on Thursday, May 28 at 11 a.m. in the Budd Lake section of Mount Olive, N.J.

Sponsors to date for Women Build include: Provident Bank, Crum & Forster, Passion 4 People, Vanguard Energy Partners and North Central Jersey Association of Realtors (NCJAR).
