Hopatcong Celebrates Pride & Patriotism with Inaugural Flag Day Parade
Hopatcong, NJ - April 25, 2024 - The Borough of Hopatcong, in partnership with the Lake Hopatcong Elks, proudly announces the debut of the Flag Day Parade, scheduled for June 15, 2024. This exciting event promises a day of patriotic celebration, bringing together the community in a display of American pride and unity.
The parade will commence at 10:00 AM from Defiance Fire House #3, winding its way through the heart of Hopatcong and concluding at Veterans Park. Spectators of all ages can anticipate a lively procession, featuring performances by renowned groups like the Hawthorne Caballeros and local marching bands, colorful floats representing various community organizations, and participation from civic groups, fire and rescue companies, and the esteemed Blue Knights. Dignitaries from both local and state levels will also join in the festivities.
Following the parade, a special flag-raising ceremony will take place at Veterans Memorial Park, paying homage to the significance of Flag Day. Attendees can enjoy exploring a variety of vendors at Veterans Field, offering delicious food, refreshing beverages, and unique arts & crafts. Adding to the excitement, the Borough of Hopatcong is sponsoring a contest for the most patriotic home display along the parade route, encouraging residents to showcase their pride. During the parade, the Borough of Hopatcong and the Lake Hopatcong Elks will honor the Grand Parade Marshals and Citizens of the Year, recognizing their outstanding contributions to the community.
