The 250th Calendar Art Contest is a youth engagement initiative celebrating Morris County’s role in the 250th anniversary of the United States. The calendar will feature artwork from 12 selected high school students across the county and be sold to raise funds for programming and events hosted by the Morris County 250th Steering Committee.
Proceeds will directly support local educational programs, public events, and commemorative initiatives designed to honor the county’s heritage and community spirit during this historic celebration. The selected 12 winners will be recognized at the Made In Morris: Arts in Action Breakfast on October 30th, 2025 at the Park Avenue Club.
Artwork Prompt
“Celebrate America: Morris County’s Legacy in the Spirit of 1776”
Students are invited to reflect on what the 250th anniversary of America means to them — through the lens of local history, civic pride, and their own communities. Artwork should capture the theme of freedom, resilience, and community, highlighting Morris County’s historical and cultural contributions to the founding and evolution of the United States.

Morris County 250th Calendar Art Contest: Official Rules & Guidelines
Eligibility
Open to all high school students (grades 9-12) currently enrolled in public, private, charter, or home schools within Morris County, New Jersey.
One entry per student.
Submission Guidelines
Artwork must be original and created solely by the student.
Accepted mediums include: drawing, painting, printmaking, digital art, collage, or mixed media (no photography).
Art must be horizontal (landscape) orientation and fit an 8.5″ × 11″ format.
Digital submissions must be scanned at 300 DPI resolution (PDF and JPEG format).
Each submission must be accompanied by a completed and signed Release Form.
Submissions without a release form will not be considered.

Creativity and originality
Interpretation of the theme
Artistic skill and composition
Connection to Morris County’s history or community
Recognition & Awards
12 winners will be selected and featured in the 2026 Morris County 250th Commemorative Calendar.
All winners will be recognized at the Made In Morris: Arts in Action Breakfast on October 30th, 2025 at the Park Avenue Club.
Usage Rights
By submitting artwork, students and their parents/guardians agree to grant the Morris County Tourism Bureau and Morris County 250th Steering Committee the non-exclusive right to reproduce, publish, and promote the artwork in print and digital formats.
No financial compensation will be provided beyond public recognition and promotion.
