Marty Kane

Growing up on Lake Hopatcong as a summer resident, Marty Kane has served as the president of the Lake Hopatcong Historical Museum since 1990. He is the author of several books on local history as well as co-author with his wife Laura of the script for the award-winning documentary Greetings from Bertrand Island. Marty also is chair of the Lake Hopatcong Foundation, president of the Seward Park High School Alumni Association, and serves on the Morris County Historic Preservation Board, Morris County Heritage Commission, LHYC Historical Foundation, and Mountain Lakes Planning Board. Marty retired after 18 years as Business Manager for the joint Marine Corps-Army Towed Artillery System program office at Picatinny Arsenal in 2016. He transitioned to program management after serving for almost twenty years as an Army attorney specializing in acquisition and international programs.
