I-80 Eastbound overnight lane closures this week between Exit 4 and Exit 27 in Warren and Morris Counties
Closure necessary for milling and paving
(Trenton) – The two right lanes on I-80 eastbound are scheduled to be closed overnight this week between mile post 4.0 near Exit 4A/Columbia and Exit 27A-B/Route 206 as resurfacing improvement projects advance in Warren and Morris counties.
Beginning at 7 p.m. tonight, Monday, August 25 until 6 a.m. tomorrow, Tuesday, August 26, and continuing each night through Thursday, August 28 at the same time, the two right lanes on I-80 eastbound are scheduled to be closed between mile post 4.0 near Exit 4A/Columbia and Exit 27A-B/Route 206. At least one lane will be maintained overnight. Where I-80 is four lanes, at least two lanes will be maintained. The closures are necessary for milling and paving. Motorists are advised to slow down, use caution and expect delays when driving through the work zone.
The work is part of two pavement preservation projects that will mill and pave approximately 27 miles of I-80 eastbound. The first project will resurface approximately 12 miles of I-80 eastbound from mile post 0.5 through mile post 12.8 near Hope Road in Hope, Warren County. The second project will resurface approximately 14 miles of I-80 eastbound from mile post 12.8 near Hope Road in Hope, Warren County through mile post 27.25 near the Route 206 interchange in Roxbury, Morris County. The projects are expected to be completed in fall 2025.
Portable variable message signs are being used to provide advance notification of traffic pattern changes associated with the work. The precise timing of the work is subject to change due to weather or other factors.
