Greater Middlesex & Morris Habitat for Humanity Accepting Applications for Affordable Housing in Kenvil and Budd Lake
Preference Given to U.S. Military Veterans for Budd Lake Homes
KENVIL AND BUDD LAKE, N.J., September 21, 2026--Applications are now being accepted for three low- to moderate-income single-family homes in Kenvil and seven low- to moderate-income single-family homes in Budd Lake, New Jersey. The new construction homes will be sold as affordable housing to qualified applicants. The sale prices will range from $130,000 to $250,000. U.S. military veterans will receive preference for the Budd Lake homes and are encouraged to apply.
The projects will include 2-, 3-and 4-bedroom homes ranging from 2,019 square feet to 2,957 square feet. The homes are designed for households with two to eight people and are handicapped accessible from the first floor. The homes will be ENERGY STAR certified.
Interested applicants must attend one mandatory virtual meeting / information session to qualify. Applications for Kenvil are due on October 31, 2026, and a random selection of the eligible homeowners will be held on December 1, 2026. Applications for Budd Lake are due on November 30, 2026, and a random selection for eligible applicants will be held on December 22, 2026. This is an equal housing opportunity.

Each home will have a deed restriction that allows modest equity upon resale, and mandates that it be sold at an affordable price to another income-eligible family. The prospective homeowners will contribute volunteer hours toward building their home as well as other homes.
