Undefeated Start for Lake Forest Swim Team

A Lake Forest Yacht Club Swim Team update from team board member Kim Good: We are having a great start to our season. With 4 of the 10 meets raced, we are currently 4-0. We have defeated Shore Hills; Denville; Lake Shawnee and the latest upset was Flanders Valley last night. (I don't remember the last time that we won against them.)
On Tuesday evening we had 22 swimmers participate in the Roxbury Ribbon meet. There are two Ribbon Meets held each season which are geared for swimmers of similar ability to compete against one another. Next Friday, we will run a Bagel Breakfast before each age group and distribute ribbons to all of our 12 & Under swimmers.
For our "Out of the Water Activities"... Today our 13+ have joined our coaches for a day of fun in Mountain Creek. On Saturday, 7/24 the LFYC is hosting a Concert on the Beach and we have been given the opportunity to run the Concession/Grill and 50/50 as a fundraiser. It is a great opportunity for our swim team families to mingle; dance and swim with the LFYC families. This is the 3rd year and should be a blast as in past years. Then on 7/29 the team will skip practice and spend the day at the Land of Make Believe.
We still have tough meets ahead with Cranberry Lake; Randolph Park; Roxbury; Park Lake; Shongum and Mendham before the championship meets of the season. But the swimmers and coaches are optimistic.
