Lake Forest Swim Team Wraps Up Season with 7-3 Record

The Lake Forest Swim Team celebrated its 20th season at the Lake Forest Yacht Club with a winning record of 7-3! We would like to thank the LFYC Board and the Community for their continued support of our team.
Our coaches, Chris Murarik and Eddie Zappile did an amazing job working with the swimmers on stroke technique, teaching the sport of swimming, and imparting a great sense of sportsmanship. This resulted in a winning record of 7-3 and a 4th place finish in the NJRLL Large Lake Division.
This year the LFST had 23 new swimmers join the team, giving a team total of 89 swimmers, with new swimmers ages 5 to 16.
We would like to recognize our “senior” swimmers that completed their final season on the LFST: Courtney Good, Leif Hanish, Rita Jackson, Carly Nagy, Nolan Silbernagel, and Chris Zapilli. We wish you the best of luck in college and attaining your dreams!
Outside of the water the team went to the Land of Make Believe; Mountain Creek; Ribbon & Bagel Mornings; Concert on the Beach; and the Lake Shawnee Dance… all before the championship meet.
Our swimmers performed very well at the championship meets.
At Silvers Championship…59 Swimmers attended the Silvers Championship and there were 66 swims of personal best times. We also had 72 swimmers medal in their events.

In order for the team to be successful we do need a high level of volunteerism. We would like to thank all of the parents who participated throughout the season, from pre-season set up to end of season closing and everything in between. We cannot do it without you and look forward to your continued support next year.
We would also like to extend a special thank you to our exiting NJRLL League Representative, Mark Silbernagel. Your (& Linda’s) dedication to the team over the last 15 years is greatly appreciated. And finally to all of our sponsors—thank you! We encourage everyone to patronize their business and services.
With the 2010 season behind us, let’s enjoy the remaining weeks of summer. For any non-club swimmer who is interested in exploring swimming during the off-season, there are many opportunities with different levels of competitiveness. If we keep improving or strokes and times, maybe we can take on the teams we lost to this season. If interested, please contact me for further information at Kimgood@optonline.net.
Mark your calendars—Sunday, May 1st is registration. Pre-Registration will be available online in March!
We look forward to seeing everyone back in the water next year! Bring a friend!
