Hopatcong Woman’s Club’s Maxim Glen Flower Garden
Several members of our Woman’s Club met at noon on May 20th to plant a flowering garden in the center of Maxim Glen on Hopatchung Road, in the same area that we plant our annual Pinwheel Garden in honor of Child Abuse Awareness each April. We have adopted this area year-round now as a place that we will be responsible for maintaining, and we will soon have a sign to plant as well to raise awareness for our local club.
Clubmembers present for the planting: Lisa Hirschfeld, Pat Hoferkamp, Diane Ottman, Betsey (& Rick) Adey, and photographer (not pictured) Cindy Heaton.
Speaking of local, we are very excited to have received a very generous donation of beautiful purple Silvia plants and four flats of perennial Vinca flowers from Samantha Prestifilipp oat Presto Flowers on Lakeside Boulevard. Her expert help in planning out what varieties would suit the area best was invaluable. It’s nice to see a local business help our club, so please visit Presto for your next garden project!
The Hopatcong Woman’s Club meets on the third Wednesday of each month (from September to May) at the Elba Point Beach Club building located at 30 Ithanell Rd, Hopatcong, at 10:30am. There is no fee for attending a meeting and all are welcome. Follow us on Facebook or check out our Club’s Web site www.HopatcongWC.webs.com
