Apply for Home Utility Assistance Through the DCAid Service Portal

NJ COVID-19 Updates and More

Do you have questions about when and where you can receive the COVID-19 vaccine, mask requirements, or how to get a COVID-19 test? The State of New Jersey offers up-to-date information, resources, and guidance at our COVID-19 Information Hub.

Utility Help is Available

New Jersey's utility shutoff moratorium ended on March 15th.

If you owe money on your utilities, here are three ways to get help:

• Call your utility company and ask about payment plans

• Apply for assistance using the DCAid Service Portal

• Dial 2-1-1 for local services

You can apply for help now from multiple financial assistance programs using the DCAid Service Portal from New Jersey's Department of Community Affairs. With expanded income eligibility for some programs, you may be eligible for assistance even if you thought you were not.

To arrange a payment plan, contact your utility company as soon as possible to enroll in a Deferred Payment Agreement to lower your monthly payment and keep your service on.

Need Health Insurance? You May Still Qualify to Enroll

Have you had a recent major life change?

Although the Open Enrollment Period for Get Covered New Jersey ended January 31st, 2022, you may be eligible to enroll in health coverage if you have a major life event.

Additionally, the new Expanded Access Special Enrollment Period allows qualifying consumers with an annual household income of up to 200% of the federal poverty level ($25,760 for an individual and $53,000 for a family of four), to enroll in a health plan throughout the year.
