Quiet Labor Day weekend on Lake Hopatcong
For a few hours early Sunday evening, Lake Hopatcong was below the high-water mark and had warm, summertime weather. Up until that point, the lake was under a no-wake restriction, and the following day—Labor Day—was overcast and rainy, though the lake did stay below the high-water mark for the holiday. (Steady rainfall put the lake back above the high-water mark late Monday night.)
As a result, the long weekend was quieter than most. But residents and visitors around the lake still found ways to enjoy the unofficial last weekend of summer. Photographer Karen Fucito captured some of those moments.
