IMG_0406topThe annual lighting of the Menorah took place Sunday evening, the second day of Chanukah, at the municipal building in Hopatcong. About 20 people gathered during a steady, cold rain, reciting prayers as part of the lighting ritual. The ceremony was led by Steve Stein, a local resident who stepped in when it was learned the rabbi scheduled to lead the event was suddenly unavailable. Visitors then made their way to the Lake Hopatcong Jewish Community Center on Durban Avenue to continue the celebration.
