It couldn't have been a more perfect day on the lake -
for the Jefferson Township Memorial Day Parade. Veterans, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, troop leaders and township dignitaries gathered at the William H. Flatt, JR. American Legion Post 245 to march in the annual parade down East Shore Road to the Brady Bridge.

A solemn ceremony marked the start of the Memorial Day celebration.
Reverend Chris Muldoon, Star of the Sea R.C. Church gave the invocation and prayer. Col. Paul M. Hill was the guest speaker and gave a a very moving talk about the meaning of "decoration".
