First-ever Taste Of Jefferson

JEFFERSON - The Jefferson Arts Committee hosted the “Taste of Jefferson with Jazz” culinary event on Saturday evening, October 12 at St.Thomas the Apostle Church’s Parish Hall in Milton/Oak Ridge.
The 120 attendees were treated to a unique opportunity to taste a wide variety of food from 27 Jefferson and immediate area restaurants. The food was presented buffet style, allowing participants to select their own food combinations and range of food was vast. From spicy General Tao’s chicken to Southern Fried Chicken to Chicken Francaise all the chickens seemed to have been there. Pulled pork and barbecued ribs with a side of pesto salad may have suited some, while others headed for the broccoli cavatelli and eggplant rollatini. Sausage peppers and onions set off a number of pasta styles available while the Township Community Jazz Band, under the direction of Peter Tummillo, filled the room with pleasing sounds.
The night raised funds for the Jefferson Arts Committee’s continuing activities to enhance the quality of life in the township through art programs that include: free Summer Gazebo Concerts, Jefferson Township Day, Christmas in the Village, the Student Artists of the Month program, and subsidizes to the Jefferson Township Community Concert and Jazz Bands, the Jefferson Township Community Chorus, and the Jefferson Community Players.
