About 15 or so people participated in the first Lake Hopatcong Foundation post-fireworks clean up. Although many participants agreed that the state of the lake was better than last year (and we at the foundation hope that it was in part because of trash bags we purchased and the LHYC Juniors handed out at different lake-entry points!), we still had several garbage bags worth of debris collected and disposed of. The "catch" included ping pong balls, bottles and cans, a watermelon, and even a purse (with a car key and bank card inside). Many thanks to those who participated, and kudos to the lake community for keeping the lake quite cleaner this year than last!
