Visit: 120 Brady Road, Lake Hopatcong
Located near Brady Bridge is a restaurant that should not be missed. Formerly Johnny’s Italian Restaurant, this new eatery may have “little” in its name but not on its menu, and it adequately fills the big void left behind when its predecessor closed its doors.
Little Nicki’s offers large portions with equally large taste. By simple word of mouth, Little Nicki’s pizza is being called the best around the lake by some. But pizza is only one irresistible item on the menu. Whether you go for pizza, a snack or a full course meal, you will not be disappointed.
To begin, patrons are served warm crunchy garlic bread. Save a piece for your meal, it’s great for dipping. A house salad is a colorful combination of fresh, mixed greens. Other salad options include an iceberg wedge, classic caesar, and a caprese salad with roasted peppers, tomatoes, basil, and “handmade” mozzarella cheese. All salad dressings are homemade.
An array of appetizers is available to start your meal or to have as a lighter meal in itself, ranging from $6 to $9. Panini and sub sandwiches, as well as Nick’s quarter-pound burger, will satisfy any appetite. Choose from cheddar, American, mozzarella or bleu cheese for your made-to-order hamburger. The vegetable delight Panini sandwich was a favorite at my table.
Entrees include chicken, pasta and fish—all are served with a choice of soup or salad. Not sure what you’re in the mood for? The mixed grill was delicious and a nice combination of Italian sausage, chicken and a pork chop. The portions are large as this diner discovered in the chicken sorrentino.... it was delicious.
The atmosphere is casual and friendly. Hanging on the walls are various paintings that are so interesting, one can’t help but notice them, and get a little lost in their color and subject matter. All are for sale.
Soda refills are free and Little Nicky’s is BYOB. Parking is adequate, but unfortunately there are no dock spaces for boaters. Perhaps a little teaming up with Tiny’s next door is needed... BYOB sales for a couple of dock spaces? Sounds like a good deal to me.
