Fishing on the slower side with the extreme heat, but some fish being caught. Fish with herring or small jigs for some smallmouth or crappies. Tommy Fernandez fished off the Yacht Club at Bertrands Island for some Hybrids Stripers, catching a 7 lb 1 oz fish along with some smaller ones. Roman Pera of Wallington fished the evening hours catching a 3 lb 10 oz Largemouth Bass and walleye up to 7 lb 12 oz, using herring and topwater lures. Stick to your Point areas such as Chestnut, Elba , Pickerel or Pine Tree in about 20 to 25 foot of water. Have a great week.
