ROXBURY -- A sports car that was discovered submerged in Lake Hopatcong in Roxbury this afternoon turned out to be a stolen car that apparently had been dumped in the lake, authorities said tonight.

Police were initially uncertain whether anyone was in the vehicle when it fell off Kingsland Ramp, off Kingsland Road, and ended up in Lake Hopatcong. But after the 2005 Mustang was pulled out of the water, they determined no one was inside.
