The Lake Hopatcong Commission has rescheduled its November meeting to
Tuesday, November 10 at the Mt. Arlington Municipal Building on 419
Howard Blvd, in Mt. Arlington. The 7 p.m. meeting was originally
scheduled for Monday, November 16 at the Roxbury Municipal Building on
Route 46.
The November meeting is expected to include a discussion and vote on whether to move forward with state legislators to create permissive legislation that would allow the commission to raise money for its operations through lake user fees. The idea was first proposed more than a year ago, and was discussed at length at the Lake Hopatcong Commission's October meeting. The commissioners ultimately decided to wait until after the November 3 gubernatorial election, which may change leadership in Trenton, before deciding whether or not to take that step. Further discussion is also expected on the commission's business plan—a draft with three different employment options was first presented in October.
